• From Calais take the A26 - E15 towards Arras/Paris

• Continue towards Paris on A1 - E15, E19

• Go around Paris on the ring road (Periphique) following the signs to Bordeaux and A10 - E5

• Follow A10 - E5 towards Chartres/Orleans

• Continue on A10 - E5 towards
Orleans then on to Blois, Tour and eventually Poitiers

• Come off the A10 - E5 at Junction 29 and get on to the Poitiers by pass following the signs first for Poitiers and then for Angouleme. After coming through the toll as you come off the motorway, you will do an almost 365 degrees turn to get on to the Poitiers/Angouleme road.

• It will seem as though you are returning to the motorway, but follow the sign for Poitiers, Angouleme and Limoges. This is a typical by pass with many turnings off, including the airport, but keep going for about 20 minutes until you reach a sign to the right for Civray, Smarves and Confolens. The turning is opposite a large Leclerc supermarket, which is widely advertised beforehand.

• Follow the D741 to Gencay, where you should take the D1 signposted to Civray. Follow the road through the villages of La Ferriere-Airoux and Sommimeres-du Clain.

• About two miles after Sommierres du Clain, still on the D1, there is a large grain silo on the left. Turn right exactly opposite, where Chez Briant is signposted.

• Proceed along this country road, through a hamlet, before turning right into Chez Briant which is also the village name. The turning is on the left just before some green railings. The house is to the right of the village well and you will glimpse the pool.

DIRECTIONS TO CHEZ BRIANT FROM POITIERS AIRPORT

• On coming out of the airport turn left and then right at the roundabout on to the Poitiers bypass, following the Angouleme/Limoges signs.
