A
row of three former stables extends to the left of the
property one of which houses the pump room another the wood and the third has a second fridge for drinks.
In compliance with the new French regulations, the pool is completely fenced
with a child—safe door.
The lOm x 5m pool uses salt instead of chlorine and is much kinder to the
skin and eyes and is a more pleasurable experience for swimming in. |
| |
|
Shallow
steps lead down into the pool which is surrounded
by a patio ideal for lounging, particularly as the
garden faces due south and is a suntrap throughout
the day. The pool is cleaned twice weekly and has
the benefit of a summer cover to ensure the temperature
is maintained and to prevent leaves falling in.
Attached to the rear of the cottage is a covered area, locally known as a ‘hangar',
which gives relief from the sun and is wonderful to sit out under to barbecue
during the evenings. |

 |
Opposite
the hangar is another row of vine—covered outbuildings,
surrounded by mature bamboo which rustles delightfully
in the wind. These buildings are used for storage.
Behind the pool is the orchard with several plum and pear trees, which is a great
place for rounders and other games.
From here it is an easy walk into Romagne for a drink in the barl, buy your baguettes from the bakery or visit the Co—op
which is also open on Sunday mornings and visit the pizza man on a Sunday night. There is also a good restaurant which is open most lunchtimes and some evenings as well. |

Chez Briant is situated in a row of three cottages, two of which have been combined
to create one large cottage. The accommodation layout is ideal for families
wishing to holiday together, who would still like a little independence from
each other, as the upstairs of each cottage is not interconnecting, but accessible
from the staircases on the ground floor. |
